Terms and Conditions

Pitches are available from 12 noon on day of arrival and must be vacated by 11am on day of departure.

Wigwams are available from 3pm on day of arrival and must be vacated by 11am on day of departure. The keys to be returned to the owners on departure. Smoking is not permitted in the wigwams. Access, we reserve the right of access to the wigwams at any reasonable time during your stay for us or our agents.

Campfires: Yes we allow campfires...in designated areas only. Campfire should never be left unattended & must be kept under control. Please extinguish prior to retiring for the evening. We sell logs, there is no collection of firewood from the woodland allowed, as this provides essential habitats for many kinds of wildlife.

Pets are very welcome. Maximum of 2 pets allowed per wigwam/pitch. Please keep them on a lead at all times. You are responsible for cleaning up after your pet. Remember pet bedding for a Wigwam stay & never leave your wee pet unattended in the wigwams.

Booking Deposit – A payment equal to 50% of Total Cost is payable at time of booking. The Deposit payment is not refundable should you fail to arrive on date due. On cancellation/Alteration: New dates will be offered/agreed, full deposit will carry forward and new booking confirmed. On cancellation only: Within 14 days of arrival - £0.00 refunded. On cancellation only: Over 14 days of arrival - Refund of 50% deposit payment less £5.00 administration fee. A Full deposit refund will always be given in the event N R Picken/ Solway View have reason to cancel your booking.

Payment - Please make the deposit cheque(s) payable to N R Picken. Alternatively, we accept Credit/Debit card payment, please call - 01557 870206 to make Credit/Debit Card Payments. Note, charges may apply.

Balance/Final payment – The remainder of the accommodation fee is payable on arrival. Cheques on arrival are not acceptable.

Confirmation – Bookings will only be confirmed on receipt of a completed booking form with the required deposit. Confirmation will be made on date of receipt either by telephone or email.

Booking - The person making the booking will be held responsible for the all persons in group/party. The numbers given on the booking information cannot be exceeded. Any alteration to the booking must be confirmed to the owners prior to arrival. Please note the owner reserves the right to void/cancel the booking where alterations to the booking are unacceptable. The booking is not transferable to any 3rd party.

Behaviour and conduct – Solway View is a small family friendly site. We allow well behaved group bookings and no unaccompanied under 18s. Please enjoy your time on site, always respect your fellow guests & endeavour to behave appropriately. We ask that you move no vehicles & keep noise levels low, between 11pm and 7am. We will ask offenders to leave.

Litter/waste - We do have recycling facilities but please, please discard ALL unnecessary packaging before you come. Please leave pitch/wigwam free of litter & waste. Clear all waste to the bin/recycling points. Please take home items if no bin is provided for it eg - inflatable mattressess, folding chairs, BBQ's, boxes... We reserve the right to make an extra charge if pitch/wigwam is not left in a satisfactory condition.

Solway View Caravan Site Property/Wigwams - Please ensure that you take all reasonable care in the use of Solway View property and contents including the security of the property, at all times. Report any damages as soon as they occur. We reserve the right to charge for all repairs, losses or replacements necessitated by the negligent act or omission of any of your party, guests or invitees. If necessary this may include an administration charge.

Solway View/N R Picken - As far as the law allows, we take no responsibility for loss, damage or injury to you/any of your party or your property, as a consequence of this agreement or the occupancy following on thereon.

Environment – Here at Solway View we are committed to providing a good quality service whilst minimising the environmental impact of our services. We are committed to sustainable tourism and have achieved GOLD STANDARD with the Green Tourism Business Scheme. We have provided recycling points on site for tins/cans. Compost bins are provided for raw food waste. Reclaimed wood & FSC wood has been used for all benches and the cooking hut. We are replacing all suitable light bulbs to energy efficient bulbs. Solar lights will be used when ever possible. 'Tina the Turner' - our wind turbine helps power our site.
