Solway View is an ideal base from which you can discover and enjoy the countryside and local villages and towns. The Artist Town of Kirkcudbright is always worth a visit and can be reached following a fantastic coastal route, take the car or for the more energetic, go on foot or by bike. Whilst there you could check out the Wildlife Park or take a boat trip up the river on "lovely Nelly". There are also plenty of fantastic shops and places to eat.

Nearby is Cream O'Galloway , an organic farm. They have a wonderful outside adventure play area and an inside play-barn, catering for children of all ages. They have a fabulous selection of ice cream and frozen yoghurt and there is a tea-room with a great selection of meals.
